GLYFADA NAUTICAL SPORTS CLUB FACILITIES (ANOG), ATHENS, GREECE


In an area of about 7.2 acres, opposite the emblematic Old Town Hall of Glyfada, and immediately next to the sea are the sports facilities of ANOG.


The Olympic size pool with dimensions 50x25 and ten lanes, has a dominant position within the complex. It was built in 2002 and it is one of the most modern in Athens. Its capacity can host more than 500 athletes of all ages daily. From time to time the swimming pool of ANOG has hosted international swimming and water polo competitions, various polo championships and swimming galas. The public have their own swimming hours throughout the year.


The locker rooms are comfortable and functional for men and women. The main building of ANOG hosts the administration department, the accounting office, a room that hosts meetings of the board of directors as well as a presentation

room. 


The medical facilities provide the necessary equipment in cases of emergency and initial medical care with a medical officer always on stand-by.


In the lounge area, one can read his book, use his computer or watch TV. Coffee, cocktails and delicious snacks are available from the fully equipped bar during specific opening times.

HERAKLION MUNICIPAL SWIMMING CENTRE, CRETE GREECE


The facilities of the Heraklion Municipal Swimming Centre date back to 1976 and are maintained in a very high condition. The swimming pool is located on Spyrou Moustakli Street, in Heraklion, in an area of 6,000 sqm.


The facilities of the swimming pool can host an average of 1,500 athletes during all seasons and its opening hours are 7:00 am to 11:00 pm.


This facility houses 8 Clubs while a total of 11 Associations of swimming, water polo and synchronized / artistic swimming are present here.


During its operation it has hosted several national swimming championships, national water polo championships, athletic events, the World Water Polo Tournament in 2007 as well as the Armed Forces Water Polo Championship.


The infrastructure of the swimming pool facility includes the following:


  • Outdoor olympic size swimming pool 50x25x2m, ideal for water polo training
  • Indoor swimming pool – heated (learning pool 10×12m)
  • Training room for athletes
  • Changing rooms for men – women – children
  • Electronic equipment for conducting official swimming, water polo, synchronized swimming competitions.
